Young and talented forward with continous movement, speed
and power are the strengths of his style of playing. Eugenio
Fascetti, his trainer and talent scout in Bari during
the 1996/97 and 1997/98 seasons, stated that he considered
Nicola Ventola is the prototype of the modern center forward,
potentially one of the best Italian forwards over the
next ten years.
Within the Youth Area Team of the club from Apulia he
has won the title of national champion in the Cadets category,
beating in the final Brescia with the former Inter player
Andrea Pirlo. He has played for all junior national selections:
Under 15, Under 16, Under 17, Under 18, Under 21.
In July 1997 he obtained his school-leaving certificate
in Science with the 46/60 mark In September of the same
year he enrolled in Law at the University of Bari, where
in July 1998 he underwent the first exam, Philosophy of
Right, overcoming it with full marks, 30 cum laude. |
