A talented forward, characterized by first-class technical
skills and a violent and very precise kick.
His career in professional soccer began when he was only
17 playing for Danubio, Uruguayan team in serie A.
Playing in his country, from 1994 to 1997 he performed
an incredible average of goals: 57 in 51 matches, equal
to more than one goal per match.
On the occasion of his first official match wearing the
colors of Inter (31st August 1997, Inter-Brescia 2-1),
he introduced himself to the audience in San Siro scoring
two extraordinary goals in twenty minutes played: the
first one, an extremely violent blow forty meters away
from the goal posts, probably represents his best ballistic
feat since when he got to Italy.
Within Inter, he is the player who hit the highest number
of posts during last season: 4, against Atalanta, Bari,
Brescia and Udinese. Last season he has played 100 times
in the Italian soccer (14/1/2001, Inter-Parma 1-1).
And Antonio Chimenti has been the goalkeeper who has beaten
the most. |
